Battleray Armies Beta is a free-to-play strategy game that takes place in a distant future. The player assumes the role of a captain of an army and leads a faction in a war against other factions. The game's objective is to collect data from mysterious alien supercomputers built by the Shadows, a hostile alien race. The game features three factions, each with its own story and goals. The Orion Alliance, the Zamorian Empire, and the Machine Legion are the three factions that players can choose from.

Players lead their armies by choosing from four different unit types: Armored, Support, Artillery, and Hacker. The armored units are the front-line fighters, while the support units heal the resistance of allied units. The artillery units have the greatest firepower but low resistance. The most important unit in the game is the Hacker, as the battle ends when they collect 100% of Shadow data.
